All animals loving playing with toys. But did you know that you can use toys as a training reward too? Not all animals are food motivated and this can be a challenge sometimes. In one of my puppy schools I had a beagle called Harry that could not focus if food was used as a reward so i asked his humans to find the best squeaky toy EVER! This toy was used only in training and it served two purposes; the squeak sound was great for gaining Harry's attention and then could be used as a play toy for a reward. It is important to note that when giving food rewards or toys when training you are NOT bribing you are in fact paying your furry or feathered friend for a job well done.
