About
Kath Stanley has worked with animals since she has been 9 years old when she got her first job cleaning out stables at her local riding school in England. Horses were her first love and learnt very early on that being kind and gentle to animals gained more respect than being domineering over them. Kath immigrated to Australia in 1988 and after finishing school went to Gatton University studying Ass. Dip. Applied Science in Horse Husbandry.
Animal health and welfare has always been a priority for Kath and she followed her heart and studied cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and worked in domestic industry for 5 years. It was here that she found her love for puppy training and discovered the importance of good canine citizenship. Kath has managed a vet practice and created and implemented Puppy Pre Schools and trained staff in animal behaviour.
In 1999 Kath began working at Sea World in the Animal Care Section and found her love for animal behaviour and training. Throughout 18 years Kath trained Seals and Sea Lions, Dolphins, Pelicans, Polar Bears. She has also been lucky to train Emu’s, mules and Raptors. "Working with marine mammals, carnivores and birds teaches you to really observe and listen to animals and encourages training techniques to be flexible." She has trained animals for movies and TV as well as live stage, educational presentations and public interactions.
As a working mum Kath understands that life can get busy! Animals play such an important role in all of our lives and Kath truly believes that by sharing her experiences and teaching simple training techniques to members of all the family ensures that pets stay in their “forever” homes!
